Archaeology Scotland

Caring for Each Other: Past, Present and Future​

From the rudimentary remedies of the medieval monks to the front-line skills of the Royal Army Medical Corp, Newbattle Abbey has long been associated with medical care, training, and treatment. Caring for Each Other participants will explore that rich history of care through health walks and archaeological digs, connecting with each other, their place and the past, while improving their own physical and mental health.

Growing Intelligence

Growing Intelligence brings together young people aged 16 to 25 and elders aged 55 and over to co-create AI powered hydroponic gardens combining live plant data with culturally rooted health knowledge on participants' smartphones. Over 12 weeks, participants gain AI and IoT skills, embed cultural food wisdom into a working system and grow fresh produce to support diabetes prevention in Edinburgh.

Wellbeing Through Art & Reuse​

Creative Connections: Wellbeing through Art & Reuse will deliver 2 x 5 art-based workshops for up to 20 participants via organisations supporting vulnerable women, refugees/asylum seekers and people experiencing homelessness, using reclaimed materials to support wellbeing, confidence and connection. Participants create journals and develop individual & collective artworks, showcased at end.

Design Futures for Girls

Design Futures for Girls is a six-month programme in Livingston, West Lothian that gives 20–25 girls aged 9–18 hands-on experience in design thinking, digital creativity, and 3D printing. It aims to close the STEM and creative-technology participation gap for girls from rural and underrepresented backgrounds by building skills, confidence, and clear pathways into future study and work.

Inspiring Hope for Headway​

A collaborative initiative focused on enhancing health and wellbeing by building connections between Headway East Lothian and University of Edinburgh. The project aims to create a supportive, inclusive and accessible environment where our community of brain injury survivors and their unpaid carers can share stories and experiences, build strength and help people find purpose after brain injury.

LEAP Sports Scotland

Pride Action Network

LEAP Sports will deliver a pilot programme to grow a network of LGBTIQ+ volunteers in Edinburgh and the Lothians, enabling them to create and lead inclusive sport and physical activity opportunities. The project will generate recommendations for future sustainability and build links with the University of Edinburgh for ongoing support.

Parental Advocacy and Rights (PAR)

PAR Drop In

A monthly drop-in for mothers and female carers looking for advice, guidance and mutual support regarding when their children are in the Scottish child welfare system. The drop-in will offer hot drinks and soup, access to information and support from Consultant Social Worker and mothers and female carers with lived experience.

Future Innovators: Youth Robotics, STEM & Wellbeing Programme

Future Innovators is a youth-led programme supporting disadvantaged young people with STEM, robotics, and digital skills. Delivered through the Passion4fusion youth club, it offers hands-on workshops, coding, and teamwork activities alongside wellbeing support, building confidence, resilience, and future-ready skills for social and emotional growth.

Support Group for Neurodiverse Parents

To offer a unique group in Edinburgh to support neurodiverse parents, that values the challenges and experiences of neurodiverse parents equally and encourages mutual support. The Pregnancy and Parents Centre, will provide a safe and understanding space for neurodivergent parents to share the experiences and challenges of parenting and support each other.

SBWA proposes an integrated public health intervention for families with children that aims for improved health awareness, strengthened family bonding, and nurtured capable leaders in the Scottish-Bangladeshi community located in Edinburgh.

Helping Younger Women Succeed in the Jobs Market

This project will support a group of marginalised unemployed women, aged 16-25, to help them connect with their potential and thrive in the job market. Participants will complete an internship that will provide them with high quality support a vital stage of their careers.

The innovation station will allow a rural school to access Generation Science workshops and resources. This will provide accessible, inclusive and hands on activities for pupils and ensure high quality STEM learning.

Freedom to Thrive

Freedom to thrive will improve the physical and mental wellbeing of trafficked people by creating and facilitating ​positive moments and memories which are currently unaffordable and inaccessible to them. It will improve ​health and wellbeing, strengthen confidence and bring much needed freedom, relief and fun for those who are survivors of human trafficking.

Traditional Dance Forum of Scotland

Traditional Dancing for Health & Wellbeing

Traditional dancing for health & wellbeing is a 6-month pilot programme of adapted, therapeutic traditional dance sessions for older adults at risk of isolation and cognitive decline in Edinburgh and Musselburgh. Working with the University of Edinburgh's Dance Research Scotland Network the programme will deliver weekly community sessions, improving physical activity, mood and social connection.

From Isolation to Opportunity​

Work+Play Hub is an integrated coworking, childcare, and support hub designed to remove the structural barriers that prevent parents from working and accessing support. This project delivers structured mental health and employability programmes within that model, enabling families to improve wellbeing and access work while their children are safely cared for.
