Asbestos removal and redecoration, 88th Craigalmond Scout Group

This Scout group gives young people between 6-18 years the opportunity to build confidence, resilience and a sense of adventure. They prepare our young people with skills for life, supported by amazing volunteer leaders who deliver a challenging and exciting programme each week.

 

Scottish Wheelchair Rugby Premier League festivals, Edinburgh Giants Wheelchair Rugby League Club

Edinburgh Giants are looking to participate in the first Scottish Wheelchair Rugby Premier League. Wheelchair Rugby League is an amazing sport that promotes inclusiveness at its heart and provides an opportunity for athletes of all ages and genders with disabilities to compete with and against able-bodied people.

Sand and Sea, Groundswell Community Project Scotland CiC

Sand and Sea aims to provide a safe space for women to recover from trauma, gain confidence and unite in community. They provide surf therapy courses and events where activities such as yoga, journaling and breath work are delivered alongside the art of surfing. 

 

Active Engagement for Brain Injury Rehab, Headway East Lothian SCIO

Enabling and supporting Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) survivors and their carers to actively participate in learning, education, heritage, and culture and will include creating heritage boxes that people can have in our group sessions to work together on, learning, exploring, crating but taking into consideration their accessibility needs.

 

Youth Employability Programme Pilot, Inch Park Community Sports Club

They will pilot an individually focussed employability programme for young people living in an area of high deprivation in Southeast Edinburgh who have had trouble transitioning from school to employment. They will run two six-week programmes, each for six participants (with six hours contact time per week), focussing initially on young people who left school during the two-year COVID pandemic period and who had been receiving additional education support due to behavioural and non-attendance issues.

 

Summer Programme, Mayfield and Easthouses Youth 2000 project (Y2K)

Y2K is a community based youth project that provides a diverse range of youth led supports and opportunities for young people living within areas of high deprivation. They aim to support young people to feel healthy, happy and valued members of their communities, helping them to realise their potential and broaden their horizons. 

 

Expecting Something, Starcatchers

This community project is designed to improve the lives of families by using the arts and creativity to nurture early childhood development, strengthen relationships, increase parental confidence and infant-adult wellbeing. They reduce inequalities for our youngest citizens, providing free activities for babies under two and their adults in areas of poverty. 

 

Project Light, Survivors of Human Trafficking in Scotland (SOHTIS)

Project Light identifies and recovers victims of human  trafficking. They train frontline workers to identify victims of trafficking and provide second tier advice and direct client advocacy services to ensure victims are brought to safety and have a sustainable route to freedom. 

 

Wellbeing Hub, The Larder West Lothian

The Larder are opening a low cost community café/shop in Blackburn in summer 2023, an area of deprivation in West Lothian. The funding will enable them to employ a development worker to develop and implement a programme of activity and learning that would encourage vulnerable people to socialise.

 

Support for our most vulnerable young people going to High School, The School Bank West Lothian

This organisation aims to support young people from the most deprived areas of West Lothian to get off to a good start in their first year at High School. They provide clothing transition packs which reduce the inequalities experienced by young people and ensure they can look forward to going to High School.

 

Cooking Club, The Welcoming Association

The Welcoming Cooking club will support New Scots at risk of food insecurity and fuel poverty by providing opportunities to learn how to cook healthy recipes on a budget in an energy-efficient way. Delivered at The Salvation Army Cook Station near our office, the project will bring the community together, creating a space for learning and sharing.

 

Nature Play Cafe at Valley Park Community Centre, Trees and Seas Outdoor Adventures CIC

A Play Cafe for under-5s with outdoor nature play, storytelling and drama themes. This will be based at ValleyPark Community Centre in Burdiehouse/Southside in Edinburgh.

 

Power Up, VIE Velo

Introducing an e-tandem to empower more blind and visually impaired people to get cycling and socialising with our community.
