Activities aim to boost confidence, improve health & wellbeing, teach new skills and increase aspirations so that participants feel safer and able to contribute more to the community while boosting their sense of belonging.

Improving Your Future, West Calder High School Cares

This project aims to improve the life and work chances of 320 school pupils by increasing their opportunities to train, develop and widen their knowledge of what is possible for them to achieve when they leave school. This will be achieved through a mix of activities including motivation experiences, visits to workspaces and colleges, and training.

Scran and Signposting, Scran Academy SCO

The Scran and Signposting sessions provide citizens in areas high on the SIMD with free youth-led food alongside access to expert benefits and grants advice. Working with community and youth groups citywide, Scran will deliver eight of these innovative events, providing community members with an inclusive, warm place to eat and find ways to lighten the load.

Edinburgh Old Town Development Trust will run a community and student-led growing collective, where volunteers from the Old Town community and EUSA permaculture gardening society collaborate to develop an urban permaculture strategy. Through peer-to-peer learning, they will cultivate greenspaces in the Old Town, providing locally grown fruits and vegetables for the Crannie pantry and cooking workshops.

Circle of Support: Effective Facilitation and Toolkit Mastery, Equal Futures

This project equips participants with the principles and practical tools needed to effectively facilitate a Circle of Support, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. Through hands-on learning and guided practice, facilitators will gain the confidence to lead these circles and create meaningful connections within their communities.

Rad Trad Dance, Traditional Dance Forum of Scotland

Rad Trad Dance is a new dance theatre show to be co-devised and co-choreographed with 60 eleven-year-old pupils from two of Edinburgh's inner city primary schools: Abbeyhill and Royal Mile. It will be performed by 20 post-graduate students undertaking their MSc in Dance Science and Education at the University of Edinburgh as part of Pomegranates: Scotland's only festival of world dance.
